News on the futures of 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' announced

Yesterday, we had the rather encouraging news that the USA's version of the X Factor was lagging, and that it may be called quits. This obviously drawed a lot of optimism and cheers at SupaJam HQ, however, news has emerged today about this side of the Atlantic, and it's not good: Simon Cowell has signed a new deal with ITV that will see The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent stay on air for at least another three years.

Here's what Simon Cowell said about the deal: "I am thrilled that we have extended our deal with ITV for Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor. They have been fantastic partners and some exciting new plans to take the shows to the next level."

Peter Fincham of ITV said: "Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor are two of the most popular and most talked-about shows on TV. They set the gold standard for entertainment production. We’re pleased to announce this new deal, which will see them continue to be an important part of ITV’s schedule."

So, there you have it, another three years' of people's lives have been banished to the intellectual graveyard that is Saturday night television.

We spend most of our time helping out new artists and promoting new music, take a look at one of our success stories here.
