The Crow is either a laughably over the top mock-goth wankfest or a suitably brooding tribute to the star who died while playing the lead. What it’s not is in desperate need of a remake. But as Hollywood has officially run out of ideas (all those superheroes and they’re doing the Green Lantern?) there is going to be a remake. Stephen Norrington was doing the script, but he’s been kicked off and they’re casting around for new people. One rumour says that Nick Cave will do it, and quite frankly this excites us. If there’s one person who knows how to carve out dark, gothic gravitas while still maintaining an energy, it’s Cave, and he has form having been highly praised for his script for The Proposition.
