No Cover is the new YouTube talent show for unsigned bands

No Cover is the new YouTube talent show for unsigned bands
Supajam have a history of contests where bands played their own material and won prizes, from Fast Track which sent people to perform at festivals like Benicàssim, to Breakout, which was televised in Brazil. We’re thus thrilled to discover another talent based contest where unsigned acts get to perform their own songs, not X Factor style karaoke, but original band music.
What are we talking about? Step forward No Cover, which is debuting season one at YouTube: at time of writing the first two episodes are available. Now, we’re big fans of YouTube content, but if you’re skeptical take a look at this: judges include Alice Cooper (yes that Alice Cooper) and Gavin Rossdale (no Bush slander here), and Lzzy Hale.
There are, of course, weekly challenges to target things like writing, performance, mentors who come in to give advice and all that jazz, and the winner will get a record deal, while songs performed on the show are digital distributed (but the bands get the distro rights).
It’s early days, just two episodes so far, but this seems to have flown under the radar: we don’t know anyone talking about it. So let’s change that.
