Peter O'Toole passes away age 81

Actor Peter O'Toole has passed away today at the age of 81 after a battle with a long illness.

O'Toole had retired from acting last year, saying "I bid the profession a dry-eyed and profoundly grateful farewell", and had been suffering for a while.

Though he rose to fame after his incredible performance in the magnificent Lawrence Of Arabia, one of O'Toole's triumphs is beating stomach cancer in the 1970s. He received eight Oscar nominations for such films as Becket, The Lion in Winter, Goodbye, Mr Chips and Lawrence of Arabia.

The late Irishman is survived by two daughters, Pat and Kate O'Toole and a son, Lorcan O'Toole.

Peter O'Toole was born on the 2nd of August in 1932 and died at the Wellington Hospital in London on the 15th of December, 2013.
