Petition launched to stop Kanye West from headlining Glastonbury 2015

It's becoming an increasing trend that every year, a proportion of the Glastonbury faithful become so obsessed over what the Pyramid Stage represents to them, that if the Eavis family book something that disagrees with their own taste, they take it personally.

After Kanye West was confirmed as Glastonbury Festival 2015's second headliner last night, it was met with a whole scope of reactions by music fans, however, it is Neil Lonsdale, a Norfolk music fan who has taken it to the next level, and has set up a petition to stop Yeezy from playing at Worthy Farm.

Lonsdale, who loves Green Day, Placebo, Royal Blood and Despacio, wants a replacement. Writing on Change.org, Lonsdale explained. "Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend Glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment. Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music....he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving! Lets prevent this musical injustice now!"

Currently standing at 1,000 signatures, Kanye West has really inspired a vitriolic reaction from supporters. Some comments illustrate a clear stigmatism of Hip Hop but many question whether his values echo those of Worthy Farm - we don't remember the same calls being made about Rod Stewart or Neil Diamond or whatever...
