At what stage did a collaboration between forty-six year old Poison singer Bret Michaels and seventeen year old tween idol Miley Cyrus ever seem like a good idea? On any level? Someone thought so, and the pair were slated to cover Poison’s 1988 track ‘Every Rose has it’s Thorn’. That fell through, but when Michaels and Cyrus were working together she did some vocals for a Michael’s solo track called ‘Nothin’ to Lose’.
Unfortunately, this has the lyrics ‘slowly get undressed’, and when it played on US radio a load of people complained about the implications. Michaels has since responsed to US weekly: "I was like, 'What the fuck is going on? It's blown out of proportion. The part where it says she slowly gets undressed has no reference to her and I. As God is my witness, there is nothing I have to be defensive about. I'm a good Dad. I just thought it was a beautiful song. Everyone's going nuts!” Somehow, this situation is much better than the thought of an ex-Poison member getting Cyrus to do backing vocals straight.
