Prince's doctors being investigated over his death

Prince's doctors being investigated over his death

Investigations are currently being made by the FBI, the DEA and the Carver County District Attorney’s Office in attempt to discover how the late pop star was able to come into the possession of powerful opiates that led to his death.

To recap, 57-year-old Prince Rogers Nelson (AKA Prince) was found dead at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota earlier this year on 21st April which was caused by a self-administered Fentanyl overdose. This has led to everyone to ask how he was prescribed powerful opiates. It was previously claimed that he had been addicted to Percocet due to hip problems that required a double hip replacement according to the Daily Mirror. However, he refused to have the operation as he was worried it would require a blood transfusion, which would have conflicted with his beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness.

According to TMZ.com, the doctors Dr. Michael Schulenberg (Prince’s primary physician) and Dr. Howard Kornfeld are the ones being investigated by authorities to determine if there were any legal issues that aroused by writing the prescriptions to the star. TMZ.com continues to say that the investigation could take several months and if state charges are filed, the case will not go to the grand jury but will fall to the District Attorney instead.
