Radio 1’s Big Weekend sale has annoyed a lot of people
A few days ago we reported on the excellent line up for Radio 1’s 2019 incarnation of Big Weekend, aka the one held in Middlesbrough. That last bit is important because tickets were divided by the Beeb into three groups, one for those very close, another for those close, and a final one for the rest of the country / continent / galaxy. The emphasis was very much on getting local people into it.
 
So you can guess what happened. Local interest overwhelmed supply, the ability of the website to cope and the gods, starting a tweetstorm / shitstorm of annoyed locals realising they’d have to sit at home and listen to… well some people have a chip on their shoulder:
