Radiohead are suing Lana Del Rey for copying a song they copied and lost a lawsuit over
So it’s been a crazy twenty four hours in the world of Lana Del Rey and Radiohead fandom. First, newspapers reported that Radiohead had taken exception to her song Get Free, thought it ripped off Creep and were suing. However, the band denied this…

…until Lana took to Twitter and confirmed there’s a lawsuit:

“It’s true about the lawsuit. Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing - I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court.”

So, this is interesting on several levels. Firstly, there is a similarity, see below. Secondly, Radiohead have spent years trying to sideline Creep, but they’re keen on it now. But even more, the band were successfully sued by The Hollies over Creep for copying their The Air That I Breathe and had to give those songwriters credits and royalties, so Radiohead are suing Lana for copying a song they copied, got sued for and lost.
