Red Hot Chili Peppers Mistaken for Metallica

Red Hot Chili Peppers Mistaken for Metallica

In this point in time, the band Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently on tour in Europe to promote their new album ‘The Getaway’. While at a Belarus airport, customs officials mistook them as another popular rock band Metallica.

While it is still unclear for the reason for why they were mistaken for Metallica the situation is still very humorous. The band members even gave out autographs but to only be handed Metallica photos and memorabilia to sign. This begs the question why the customs officials had so much Metallica stuff on hand to begin with.

Bass player for the band Flea, made a post on Instagram afterwards. "We were called into customs officials office at an airport in Belarus and they asked us to sign a bunch of Metallica cd's and photos". "We tried to explain to them that we weren't Metallica but they insisted that we sign anyway. They had the power. Well I did play fight fire with [fire] with Metallica once. I love Metallica anyways but I'm no Robert Trujillo."

This isn’t the first time an artist was mistaken for someone else. For example, one incident that happened two years ago, pop star Katy Perry was mistaken for actress Zooey Deschanel who plays the lead role in the TV show New Girl.
