Reznor and Numan to Work Together

Gary Numan was a synthpop pioneer, albeit one with a cold, semi-robotic persona, and although he hasn’t been relevant for at least fifteen years he certainly influenced many people. He recently came back into public view when he guested at several of Nine Inch Nails last tour dates, appearances interpreted by many as NIN, known for a bit of dark synth work himself, tipping his hat to an influence. Now Numan has revealed he’ll be going into the studio to work with NIN mainman Reznor, on what will initially be a couple of tracks but that could be more. This isn’t quite the old master teaching a bright young thing, but it will be interesting to see what happens. Both can write pop, both can sink into brooding paranoia.
