Robert Smith is this year’s Meltdown curator

Robert Smith is this year’s Meltdown curator
For it’s 25th year, the Meltdown Festival has turned to The Cure’s Robert Smith to curate the ten nights of shows. Taking place again at the Southbank Centre, Meltdown have previously given Nick Cave and Jarvis Cocker (among others) the honour.

No word on bands yet, but Smith did release the statement: “I am honoured and excited to be curating the 25th Meltdown Festival”, Smith said in a statement… More than 30 of my all time favourite artists – some of the most exciting, inspirational, intense and influential performers of the last 40 years – will make sure this 10-night extravaganza at London’s Southbank Centre is the must-see event of the summer!”
