Picture the scene. You’re a 22 year old country singer, and you’ve been selected to represent your country and perform for a visiting royal. You get onstage, and you go to welcome Duke William  (aka Prince William), but you accidentally call him a douche. This is exactly what happened to Meaghan Blanchard this week in Canada.

Blanchard claims she got duke and duchess muddled in her intro and came out with douche, and it wasn’t just a comment on state funded poshoes going on a world tour. Luckily for her, the royal couple saw the funny side and laughed, presumably before adding her name to the immigration list of people to be arrested if they set foot in Britain.
