The future of shock rockers Slipknot has been in doubt since bassist Paul Gray died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. The band – famed for wearing masks and having one of the fastest drummers in the world – seriously considered not going on, but now signs point to a future. Drummer Joey Jordinson came out with this double negative when talking to hometown newspaper the Des Moines Register: “We're still dealing with the passing of Paul, God rest his soul… But Paul would never want us to not make another Slipknot record.”. Indeed “life is definitely a lot more precious now. Music right now, really, when I play it, it's like I'm playing it for all the people that I've lost.” Gray will not be replaced, and the band will do his bass parts themselves in the studio.
