Snoop Dogg tries to cross Italian border with 420,000 dollars, Police take 200,000 of it.

Snoop Dogg had $422,820 in cash when he tried to enter Calabria airport on Saturday.

Whilst checking him at Lamezia Terme, they found the rapper with $422,820 in U.S. cash, a police source told CNN. The maximum amount of cash that passengers traveling through Italy can carry without declaring it is €10,000 ($11,010.25), far short of the amount stuffed in his pockets. The rules were put in place to prevent money laundering (See: Wolf Of Wall Street).

So the Italian Finance Police seized $205,933 of Snoop Dogg's money, according to the source. Earlier this week Snoop arrived in Italy on his private jet for a performance in the village of Montepaone, and Snoop assures police that the cash was all in exchange for his band to play concerts in Italy and elsewhere, the source said. He has now left for London.

The Italian finance police will open an investigation into the Italian concert and how the rapper was paid. It is unclear whether the rapper will appeal to get the money back.
