Sting holds a minute of silence reopening the Bataclan - watch

Over the weekend, Paris' iconic Bataclan venue re-opened after the awful attacks that saw 89 people murdered there on the 13th of November last year.

The venue's first gig was played by Sting, who issued a statement before the show saying: “In reopening the Bataclan, we have two important tasks to reconcile. First, to remember and honour those who lost their lives in the attack a year ago, and second, to celebrate the life and the music that this historic theatre represents. In doing so, we hope to respect the memory as well as the life-affirming spirit of those who fell. We shall not forget them.”

The former Police singer hosted a minute's silence at its opening. You can see that as recorded by the show's attendees below:
