Structures, wood, materials from Dismaland sent to Calais for refugees

Structures, wood, materials from Dismaland sent to Calais for refugees

Timber from Banksy's Dismaland is being sent to Calais for the aid of refugees as the temporary theme park is dismantled.

A post on the Dismaland website says "All the timber and fixtures from Dismaland are being sent to the ‘jungle’ refugee camp near Calais to build shelters. No online tickets will be available."

The 'bemusement park' was shut on Friday night after culminative performances from Pussy Riot, De La Soul, and a surprise showing from Damon Albarn. The fixtures from the park were made by Banksy himself, Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer and Jimmy Cauty.

Tents left at Bestival were also donated to the refugee crisis in Calais.

Coming soon… Dismaland Calais. All the timber and fixtures from Dismaland are being sent to the ‘jungle’ refugee camp near Calais to build shelters. No online tickets will be available.
