We’re proud to announce the SupaJam/ Oakley Safehouse Sessions. Throughout the duration of the Olympics, SupaJam has teamed up with sports giant Oakley to bring some of the UKs finest acoustic acts to Oakley’s exclusive Safehouse venue.
Oakley have come together with The Design Museum to create what is arguably their “best-ever” execution of the Safehouse, a feature of their Olympic partnership since the ’96 Atlanta games. The Safehouse acts as a quiet escape for 800+ athletes and select VIP guests to relax during the games.
SupaJam has been invited by Oakley to put together a series of unique acoustic performances during the Olympics to entertain the athletes and their guests at the Safehouse. The SupaJam Safehouse Sessions feature some of the best of the UK’s emerging artists and are due to take place at 2pm every day from July 27th to August 12th with each of the hand-picked artists performing a half-hour set.
Artists playing include Jacob Banks, Adam Barnes, Flight Brigade, Jim Jones, Kristina Miles, Morrissey and Marshall, Jay Brown and Dan Korn, with more acts yet to be announced.
We’re going to be recording acts and posted videos online, so keep an eye out for daily updates. In the meantime, SupaJam are preparing a free digital album in celebration of the artists and their forthcoming Safehouse Sessions. The album will be available for download from 12noon tomorrow (Friday 27th) over at www.supajam.com/sessions
We don't often do this, but seeing as we're excited, here's some words from the SupaJam Co-founders and all round big cheeses:
"The Oakley Safehouse sessions will cap a huge year for us at SupaJam. We cannot wait to showcase these brilliant new artists and bring them to a unique and highly prestigious audience." David Court - SupaJam Co-Founder / Joint CEO
“The Oakley Safehouse is going to give some of the world’s top athletes the opportunity to see that UK really is the driving force in new musical talent. The UK's next heritage act lies just around the corner" Nick Stillwell - SupaJam Co-Founder / Joint CEO
