Taylor Swift just got majorly shat on by music execs stabbing her in the back

Taylor Swift just got majorly shat on by music execs stabbing her in the back
In November 2018, Taylor Swift left the only label she’d had to that point, saying goodbye to Big Machine and signing with Universal. Big Machine kept the master recordings of Swift’s six albums, and Swift owned her own work going forward.

Now Swift has revealed that despite begging for a chance to buy her own masters back, Big Machine instead sold itself, and Swift’s work, to Scooter Braun, a powerful industry exec who Swift claims subjected her to “incessant, manipulative bullying,” and who she claims the bosses of Big Machine knew was hostile to her and sold it anyway.

It looks like a fit of pique: Swift signs to a better label, old label sells her catalogue to a major fucking enemy. “Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it,” Swift wrote. “This is my worst case scenario… Any time Scott Borchetta has heard the words ‘Scooter Braun’ escape my lips, it was when I was either crying or trying not to. He knew what he was doing; they both did.”

Artists are coming out in support of a musician being screwed over by the suits.
