The Karmic Hound calls for Martin Scorsese as he experiences cinema problem
Martin Scorsese made the news last week for saying Marvel movies weren’t cinema, which yunno is his opinion but does start dividing a culture which had started to accept comic books. Anyway, he’s now run into the karmic hound as major US cinema chains has decided his new movie the Irishman isn’t going to be played in their cinemas.

Why? It’s basically a Netflix movie which was going to appear on Netflix three weeks after the cinema screenings, which were mostly just to make the film Oscar legal. However, the cinemas think this gap isn’t enough and that they’re being short changed, so Scorsese’s team are having to convert their own cinema to show it.

“We’ve lost so many wonderful theatres in New York City in recent years, including single house theatres like the Ziegfeld and the Paris. The opportunity to recreate that singular experience at the historic Belasco Theatre is incredibly exciting,” said a man who’d just been bitten on the leg.
