The Metros (kind of) return as Fat Whites

Fat Whites have risen from the ashes of the Metros, playing crazed psychedelic folk-punk... listen here--

Arch scallywags The Metros made a name for themselves with a style the Guardian described as punk n roll, released a few singles, got thrown off the View tour for behaving too outrageously and eventually split up after causing a ruckus everywhere from London to Tokyo. All while they were under 18.

Now, driving force Saul Adamczewski has returned with a new band Fat Whites. Changing name and line up over the last year or two (they were the Saudis, then Champagne Holocaust, then Fat White Family) they seem to have settled into Fat Whites, and have been hosting regular nights in Brixton’s Windmill. A video has recently surfaced on youtube of a live performance by the band and it’s looking good- they’re thrashing out a psychedelic take on country and folk, bristling with punk energy and high spirits. No studio recorded tracks have hit their tumblr yet, but you can watch the video below, and London based fans can catch them playing at Swamp Dance, held in the Servent Jazz Quarters, Dalston, this Saturday- more info HERE
