Younger readers, let us tell you of a time before Amazon, when many happy moments could be spent browsing the Argos catalogue for all the lovely stuff that you had to drive to collect from their warehouse with a front end.
Turns out Muse browsed that catalogue. Appearing on Absolute Radio, the band explained where the title for Plug In Baby cam from, and no surprises for guessing:
“We got the name for the song ‘Plug in Baby’ from an Argos catalogue… This was back in the late 90’s or 2000’s. It was like a baby monitor and it was called a ‘Plug in Baby’. We saw that, we thought that’s a great song name, let’s just use that.”
