The quality gulf is wide between Serge Pizzorno's new single and awful video
Serge Pizzorno, aka the talented one in Kasabian, is releasing solo work under the S.L.P moniker. We’ve got the debut single below, and it’s called Favourites by The SLP featuring Little Simz. Small review: it’s a very good song that expands on his earlier work and will bounce through your mind.

However, as good a debut single as this is, it’s inversely matched by the video. Director Aitor Throup moved the pretentionometer well past moi with this bullshit: “The video uses his own developed complex film-making in-sync speed-warping technique which utilises the editing principles of time-remapping in a completely new way. The result is a flowing, surreal lip-synced performance seamlessly transitioning between slow and fast motion,” because the result is the sort of nonsense people have been shitting out onto message boards for years.

Oh dear.

Serge doesn’t know if there will be a solo album yet, but there needs to be a rethink on the visuals.
