Nobody likes ticket scalping, and Ticketmaster had faced a growing anger over the fact tickets which sold out in seconds on its main website then appeared on its offspring resale sites for hugely inflated prices. It was a growing PR disaster…
And now Ticketmaster is shutting Seatwave and Get Me In later this year. Here’s their PR: “We know that fans are tired of seeing others snap up tickets just to resell for a profit on secondary websites, so we have taken action”
Even more, although Ticketmaster will allow tickets to be relisted back on their own website by sellers, there will be a cap on prices so people can’t rip you off. It will be the original cost.
If course there are other resale sites, but this is a start.
