Tom Morello gets the band in for 3rd solo album

But is he too late?

One of the great mysteries of recent protest singing is where exactly were Rage Against the Machine during the George W Bush era? And what, was the point of them coming back after they’d missed that Isle of Wight sized target? Which makes us bemused at one of guitarist Tom Morello’s recent comments.

He’s releasing his third album under the ‘Nightwatchman’ moniker in August, and he’s advancing the sound from the acoustic guitar of the first two by getting a band in. He told Rolling Stone: "Troubled times call out for troubled songs. 'World Wide Rebel Songs' is an album of rousing hopelessness and this time the Nightwatchman has brought along his electric guitar to tip the scales." Err, about ten years late Tom.
