Toots and the Maytals singer suing festival goer 21 million for throwing vodka bottle at him

Toots and the Maytals singer suing festival goer 21 million for throwing vodka bottle at him

Think you had a bad head after last night's Smirnoff? Well, things ain't that bad.

Toots & the Maytals' singer, Frederick 'Toots' Hibbert, has revealed that he plans to sue after sustaining an unusual injury at Richmond’s RiverRock festiva on the 19th of May. Fan William Connor Lewis is said to have thrown a vodka bottle towards the stage, hitting Toots on the head. The band have since had to cancel dates in New York later this month and European festival slots throughout the next few months.

Michael R. Shapiro, the singer's attorney said in a statement released online: “Toots and his management team share with me the view that we should only sue those who we know to have responsibility for this vicious attack. At this moment in time, the bottle thrower, Mr Lewis unquestionably falls in that category and thus the $21M civil action against him”.
