Trainspotting writer Irvine Welsh to release Acid House LP

Trainspotting writer Irvine Welsh to release Acid House LP
Irvine Welsh has been a major figure in the UK’s cultural scene since before Trainspotting was turned into a hit movie, and he’s always had an interest in more than just writing. Yes, he’s DJ’d before, and now he’s going to be releasing a full album of tunes.
But this is Irvine Welsh, so it’s not another boring celeb jazz record, but Acid House. Here he is explaining to the Scottish Sun: “It’s not really banging, full-on mad stuff, but it’s a lot of classic acid house — swirling effects and noises and boomy basslines. Some of it is pretty groovy… Hopefully people are going to jump around and have a bop, but you’re not going to have your ears bleeding. And you’re not going to want to be stripped to the waist, salivating and banging your head off the floor.”
The whole project is a “counterblast” to “joyless young artists.” No release details yet.
