Tulisa beats Will I Am in court

Tulisa beats Will I Am in court
Does anyone remember N-Dubz? There’s no reason why you should, but they spawned singer and contest judge Tulisa. She’s had a few bad days in court, but now she’s won a victory that’s going to earn her some dollars.

In 2012 Britney Spears and Will.I.Am released a song called Scream and Shout, and it was a big hit. Apparently. Unfortunately for Tulisa, she’s recorded this first and wanted it on her solo LP, but Will’s producers didn’t approve, pulled it and later revamped it for Britney. Tulisa sued, claiming she co-wrote the song.

She had several advantages in her court case, such as the fact the Britney release still had Tulisa’s vocals actually on the song along with Britney, and Will.I.Am admitting everything to the media: “Tulisa wrote to that song before I did – this is the truth. But the producers of the beat … didn’t want her to have it”

Unsurprisingly, she’s won and will get 10% of rights. Tulisa then proved why she didn’t write many hits by saying “chicken dinner, everyone’s a winner.” Really.
