We've just been sent this video and song produced by an unsigned new band with zero budget, and zero record label support, and it's just raised the bar beyond high. Solomon Grey have got a crazy, cinematic back story- starting life in Oxford as the project of Tom Kingston and Joe Wilson, the duo have relocated to an East London warehouse complex, then an adandoned lighthouse in Cork, Ireland, then a sheep farm four hours outside Sydney, Australia, all the time honing their sound. Along the way they've been offered sponsership by a major fast food brand- they turned it down to stay fiercly independent, and now, 3 years after they first started recording in London, they've completed an album.
You can check out first track Firechild below- the video is easily the most polished we've seen from an unsigned band, and was apparently made by the duo and their friends for nothing. If you like what you hear, you can grab a free download from over here.
