Biffy Clyro have been one of the surprise acts of recent years, a group who were a few albums into their career before some faceless suit decided they’d be the next big thing, and lo, they were. Or because their developed songs finally found their way to a receptive audience, depending on how cynical you’re feeling today. Now The Scotsman newspaper has held a poll to find the Scottish band of the decade, and Biffy has won with 35% of the vote. Franz Ferdinand, darlings of the British scene earlier in the decade, came second with 13%. But those Scottish music fans aren’t all about the big names, as Frightened Rabbit came third, and hands up how many people have heard of them before.
