YouTube puts an end to 30-sec unskippable ads

If you, like us, lose most of your weekends, workdays and would be sleeping hours to YouTube holes, then consider this good news. The video service is making it easier for your time to be swallowed.

From 2018 they well be done, with the company saying that it wanted to “focus on formats that work well for both users and advertisers.”

It's not all going to dissolve, however, wiith ads 15 and 20 seconds remaining. Many believe the 'bumper ad' six-second format will come in in their place. These were introduced last year, and are designed to go better with shorter videos, which are increasingly being watched on mobile devices.
