Young People are going to gigs alone
The good news: UK Music’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ survey found that more people are going to gigs this year than last year, which is great. But of course there’s odd news.
Dice looked at 18-24 year olds and discovered that 65% of people who’d been to a gig had been by themselves, and 98% of those would be happy to do it again. Which means over half of gig going young people like going to gigs sans friends, partners, family or anyone.
The reason behind this was split between having friends with different tastes, going at too short notice to call your team together, and an unknown percentage from being lonely.
