Arctic Monkeys Artwork "Inspires" Toddla T

When you hear a story about how forthcoming album artwork – for Toddla T’s Skanky Skanky – has been inspired by an existing piece, you may wonder what great artwork has been the cause of the inspiration. And then you might scratch your head to see it’s the Arctic Monkeys cover with a bloke smoking a cigarette.

The guy in question, Chris McClure (brother of indie artist John McClure) was pictured on the front of 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' in mid smoke, a pose which generated some controversy amongst those thinking it’ll turn the kids to cigs. Toddla T has got Chris, cig in hand again, in a slightly different pose. T said of the art "Part of the reason for doing it was because I've got so much respect for Arctic Monkeys and how they've handled themselves…so it's a nod to the Sheffield scene."
