Doll and the Kicks

Since the competition Doll and the kicks have released their debut single Roll up the Red Carpet. Recorded at Nellee Hooper's Home Studios and produced by Oscar the Punk (Gwen Stefani, Robyn, Moby) and mastered by Grammy award winner Simon Gogerly (U2, Madonna).

Musical icon Morrissey premiered 'Roll Up The Red Carpet' on Janice Long's BBC Radio 2 show and has now confirmed them as his main support for his upcoming UK / European tour. The tour, which will commence April 09, will see them opening for Morrissey in esteemed venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Brixton Academy and the Manchester Apollo. The band will continue their adventures in Europe with dates lined up across the continent– quite an undertaking for an unsigned band!

Doll and the Kicks spent the past year tirelessly touring the UK and Europe and appearing at events including The Great Escape, Beachdown Festival and Brighton Live, as well as supporting established artists including Gabriela Cilmi and Das Pop.

January 2009 sees Doll and the Kicks appearing on Janice Long's BBC2 Radio show and featuring on MTV/Vodafone Soundbites session alongside Franz Ferdinand, Kings Of Leon and N.E.R.D. The band's debut album will be released in the fall of 2009.

Media enthusiasm has grown with coverage from MTV One (worldwide), BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, Sub TV, Channel M, BBC Southern Counties, Kerrang Radio, The Brighton Guide, London Lite, Total Guitar and Artrocker. The band were chosen as MSN's Unsigned Band of the Month in November 2008. They have also been featured in the January 2009 MySpace newsletter as one of the Top 10 New Bands for 2009, alongside Lady Gaga and Florence and the Machine.
