Hole Reunion is Overstated

Melissa Auf Der Maur, former member of potentially resurrected rockers Hole, has spoken out about the rumours of a Hole reunion. The rumours began when Courtney Love asked Melissa to come into the studio and do some backing vocals, which some sources turned into the forthcoming album being a full Hole effort. The truth may lie somewhere in between, but Melissa is quoted on The Daily Swarm pouring cold water on things: “[the producer] called me and asked me if I would sing on [Courtney’s] new solo record—which is what I understood it was. And I said ‘Yes’…I think you can’t take a Hole reunion thing that lightly. It’s gonna take a little more organizing than just ‘I’ll come and sing some backups and then we got Hole.” As for the hopes of gigs “I don’t know what to say about [the situation]. I’m a little confused as to what the plan with that is.” Meanwhile, Melissa gives some insight into her relationship with hole singer/main woman Courtney Love: “All I can tell you is that I love Courtney to bits. She’s a nutbag and I really do care about her. She’s like a long-lost sister to me.”
