iMeem Aided Album Ready

In 2004 Stuart Murdoch, the power behind fey (does anyone use fey nowadays?) Scottish act Belle and Sebastian had an idea for an album. It’s only taken a Stone Roses equalling five years to get it ready, and to do so he used a competition on social music/networking site iMeem (yunno, the one that’s not Myspace). The album, called ‘God Help the Girl’, features songs Murdoch wrote and female singers he found through said competition, as well as a couple of famous faces like Neil Hannon of the once chart bothering Divine Comedy. Fans of Belle and Sebastian, those bitter they didn’t win and other interested parties can get the album on June 22nd; the lead single will be a free download from Godhelpthegirl.com .
