Last year Kings of Leon broke out in Britain and Europe, but they’ve had less success in their native US. Now one of the boys in the band has decided to comment on this, and his brutal honesty isn’t likely to endear him to any of his compatriots, especially those who wave flags. Drummer Nathan Followill told TV Week that music tends to get overlooked “Unless it's hip-hop or Hannah Montana or Disney music like the Jonas Brothers — kiddy pop or hip-hop, that's pretty much what America is. You turn on the radio and you hear maybe one out of ten songs that you'd consider decent.” What chance has he got of being let through US customs without a full cavity search? But don’t worry, he likes other places: "The U.K. is more open to all kinds of music. The fans are just insane in the U.K. - they are music lovers. You have kids going to shows to see the bands, not going to a show to be seen there."
