Laura Marling Debuts New Material

Laura Marling is a brilliant young British singer-songwriter, well worth checking out if you like passionate but still slightly quiet music. Last night (March 30th) she broke from recording her second album to play a surprise gig in London, at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen (oh no, I’ve mentioned Hoxton and some of you are now surfing elsewhere). Laura debuted new material – including the mournfully titled "Drinking Alone" – and even performed a cover of Jolene (which I will be scouring Youtube for a clip of, crosses fingers). Just to make the night even better, Polly Scattergood, another new young singer, was supporting.
