Nine Inch Nails iPhone App

Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor has proved himself to be a keen adopter of technology, especially using the tools of the internet to bond a fan community together. Now, inspired by his own interactions with fans using the iPhone, he’s launching a new app for fans. Available as soon as Apple approve it, the app blurs together photos, message boards, free music and a new system called ‘Nearby’, which friend of Reznor Rob Sheridan describes as “kind of like Twitter within the Nine Inch Nails network”.

It’s just one part of the online network Reznor is successfully building, even if you don’t have an iPhone. As he told Wired, the app “reformats the website to make almost everything on it available in an iPhone-able version and also adds location-based awareness. This now brings it into the real world, where you can find people if you choose to.” And I did this entire story without using cringe-worthy fan word “ninternet”. Oh…
