Nirvana DVD Developments: Double the Fun!

A few days ago we reported on the forthcoming release of Nirvana’s excellent 1992 Reading Festival set on DVD. It turns out that this is an unofficial release, and an authorised one – of the same show – is coming in November. It’s called “Live at Reading” (which is basic, but a much better title than the “bootleg” one’s “Life Takes No Prisoners”) and will be remastered and in 5:1 surround sound for those of you with good set-ups. Bonus features will be announced closer to the date. The gap between releases (the first is out at the start of May) means you can’t really wait for a comparative review to see which is better, so most Nirvana fans will probably end up buying both given the time apart. Or maybe getting the official one for Christmas.
