Garage psyche pop from the states, basically inide rock done right...

Towards the end of the splendid 3 minute garage psyche out, Tide, Mikal Cronin bursts into a nerve splintering guitar solo that mainlines straight to the part of your brain that reacts to horrible sounds, and somehow convinces it to buddy up. Weird. It’s like suddenly finding you love the sound of nails scraping down a blackboard that’s been miked up and run through Motorhead’s backline. There’s loads more to love here- the slacker harmonies, the lo fi scuzz, and the simple joy of indie rock done well. This is the first I’ve heard of Cronin, but a quick butchers at his bandcamp page suggests a sun tinged and ramshackle songwriter of some depth. Quality.

Tide is out now on 7" and download from Goner Records
